Atlanta, GA, Sept 2009- Atlanta's Art House Co-op has opened a call for entries for the Sketchbook Project, Library edition. Participants are asked to donate their finished sketchbooks to the project, which will be exhibited in galleries and then reside in a permanent collection where library patrons can browse by theme, media, or location. Confirmed exhibition dates include Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago and St. Louis.<br />
Each sketchbook will be barcoded and cataloged, enabling visitors to the exhibitions to receive a library card with which they can check out books to browse and peruse while at the shows.<br />
Participants will receive a 5.25 in. x 8.25 in. Moleskine(R) sketchbook to fill in and return to the gallery, where it will become part of a collective exhibition along with thousands of other artists. The Sketchbook Project is open to anyone and you can sign up at Art House Co-op's website, www.arthousecoop.com, where artists can create profiles, share portfolio images, and interact with each other, essentially forming a social networking site, as well as a collective of artists from various nationalities, ideologies, styles, and artistic backgrounds.<br />

<br />
Who didn't sigh a huge sigh of relief when i said "never mind" about the worksheet questions. Hopefully today's lecture makes sense of everything and we can begin to get the experience and even - maybe - just a little pleasure out of learning to critique work - both our own, our peers and even 'famous artists' work.<br />
<br />
I'd hope that you get some use out of this semi-public forum as well.<br />
<br />
A few things to remember:<br />
<b>1) Spelling and Grammar still count </b>(*I know... booo).<br />
I usually like to write things out in a word doc. and then cut and past them over into the blog.<br />
Why?<br />
Because I can't spell, and grammar - it is beyond me - BUT - you are required to do it well. How will I know then if you are miss-spelling anything? Simple my dears.... cut and paste right back into word and there you go. Can't hide from it, just do it. <br />
<br />
2) <b>Site and source EVERYTHING!</b> It's very important and for legal reasons even. Also, it can be a great resource for someone else who is researching a similar artist to keep clicking their way into the infinite source of possibilities found on the web. Get link happy - <span style="background-color: #d0e0e3;"><span style="background-color: cyan;">highlight the words you want to link to the original site,</span></span><span style="background-color: cyan;"></span> then hit the blue button above that says <span style="color: blue;">LINK</span>, and then paste in the original web site. <br />
So let's say I was suppose to write about an art I made this summer (good times).<br />
I would paste my image to the screen via that little button up above that has a picture of a mountain<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsskrk4vtz3weMhDTQ2CtHiomlI22jfFhlqI0KStuPOD_YDu9arnyREe1_4HDUG1cwC539yN8IdYfQg-E9KEQ-T1wjTM6_JIUrgshVWvLoaKwNsAMxitskhoCmuY0YBSU-I5XJYiRGvdx1/s1600-h/Mr.Crumple's_Last_Day.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsskrk4vtz3weMhDTQ2CtHiomlI22jfFhlqI0KStuPOD_YDu9arnyREe1_4HDUG1cwC539yN8IdYfQg-E9KEQ-T1wjTM6_JIUrgshVWvLoaKwNsAMxitskhoCmuY0YBSU-I5XJYiRGvdx1/s320/Mr.Crumple's_Last_Day.jpg" /></a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Abbi A. Allan </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">"Mr. Crumple's Last Day".</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Pen on paper. 2009 </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">8.5" x 12"</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">Image taken from her Blog<a href="http://abigailallan.blogspot.com/"> "Abbi Allan's Latest Work"</a> </div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">3) Make sure you link to this blog and all your classmates' blogs as you go along.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">What will those addresses be?</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">EASY!</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">after the cva-oad-sectb-<i style="color: red;">yourlastname</i><span style="color: black;">09</span>.blogspot.com</div>so basically, cut and paste the whole thing, and where you see the italic red, take out "yourlastname" and put your own last name there.<br />
<br />
send that name to me, and I'll make sure it gets sent out to everyone else.<br />
<br />
by next week should you not only have your first posting and review, but be linked to everyone.<br />
<br />
Ready to go???<br />
As I say when I review a really hot all-star filled band "hipsters, commence blogging"<br />
best<br />
